Monster Walk does not connect to a watch directly. It reads the step total in Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, so a wearable counts whenever its app writes steps into that service. Apple Watch steps reach Apple Health automatically. The Fitbit app can write steps to Health Connect on Android. Garmin Connect can share steps with Apple Health on iPhone. For any other device, look for an Apple Health or Health Connect option in its app.
How Monster Walk gets your steps
Monster Walk needs access to the native step tracking on your phone, as the official step tracking FAQ explains: Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android. It does not pair with a watch and does not use GPS. So the question for any wearable is not "does Monster Walk support it?" but "do its steps reach Apple Health or Health Connect?"
Apple Watch
An Apple Watch writes its steps to Apple Health on the paired iPhone automatically. Apple Health merges steps from the iPhone and the watch into one daily total rather than adding them together, and Monster Walk reads that total. Make sure Monster Walk is allowed to read Steps in Apple Health and that Motion permissions are on, as the FAQ asks.
Fitbit
Android: the Fitbit app can write steps to Health Connect. Google's Fitbit help says this needs the Fitbit app on an Android phone running Android 9 or later, signed in with an adult Google account; you turn it on under Health Connect in the Fitbit app's settings and choose which data it may write, including steps. Google also notes that Health Connect and the Fitbit device can show different totals, so compare the Health Connect figure with what Monster Walk shows, not the watch face.
iPhone: at the time of writing, the Fitbit app does not offer an Apple Health option of its own, so Fitbit-only steps will not reach Monster Walk unless another app writes them to Apple Health. Your iPhone still records its own steps when you carry it, and those count.
Garmin and other wearables
iPhone: the Garmin Connect app has an Apple Health setting where you can allow it to share steps. Check Apple Health's data sources for Steps to see that Garmin Connect is listed, and give it a day: players report that Garmin's daily total can reach Apple Health with a delay.
Android: we could not confirm an official Health Connect option in Garmin Connect at the time of writing. Check the app's settings for one; if it is missing, your phone's own step count still powers the game.
For any other brand, the same test applies: open its app, look for an Apple Health or Health Connect option, turn on steps, then confirm the steps appear in the health service.
Check that steps are flowing
- Open Apple Health or Health Connect and confirm today's steps are there, including the walk your wearable recorded.
- Confirm Monster Walk has permission to read Steps from that service.
- Return to the game. If the number still does not match, follow the step syncing guide or open Settings → Support in the game to send logs.
Platform details above were checked on October 16, 2026 against the linked help pages and may change with app updates; the wearable's own app is the authority on what it can share.
FAQ
Does Monster Walk pair with a smartwatch?
No. Monster Walk reads the step total in Apple Health or Health Connect. If your watch’s app writes steps there, they count in the game.
Do Apple Watch steps count in Monster Walk?
Yes. Apple Watch steps go into Apple Health automatically, and Monster Walk reads the Apple Health step total once you allow it to read Steps.
Do Fitbit steps count in Monster Walk?
On Android, yes, once you turn on Health Connect in the Fitbit app and allow it to write steps. On iPhone, the Fitbit app does not write to Apple Health on its own, so only steps your iPhone or another connected source records will count.
